Fitness is for everyone who wants to move

Hero Athletics’ jiu jitsu, kickboxing and fitness classes are for everyBODY. We don’t limit our classes to body type or physical ability.  Based out of North Vancouver, we create a  welcoming and inclusive environment and taper our classes and movements so that you can be yourself while feeling brave, challenged and safe so you can let your inner hero shine. 

Condition | Functional Training

This high intensity interval class will have you feeling like a hero as soon as the buzzer goes! This class mixes strength, cardio and agility to provide you with a full body, fun workout leaving you feeling like you can take on the world.

This class is suitable for all levels.

Lift | Strength Training

In this strength class we’ll use weights, olympic lifting and body weight movements to build strength and encourage mobility. Extra attention is paid to demonstrating and correcting form and performance.  Modifications are provided.

This class is for all levels of fitness.

Strike | Boxing & Thai Boxing

STRIKE takes a fun approach to traditional and thai boxing while focusing on teaching you the proper technique. We incorporate bag drills, striking drills with a partner, and cardio in this high energy workout.

This class is suitable for all levels and is non contact.

Roll | Jiu Jitsu Programs

Jiu jitsu combines movement, strategy and defence to create “the gentle martial art”.  It will challenge both your body and mind and provide you with instinctive problem solving skills.  Our classes are open to all levels from beginner to advance and will focus on building fundamentals that will progress to advanced movements. 

Kids Jitsu & Striking Programs

Our kids programs will teach young people learn the importance of movement and health in a fun, non-intimidating environment.  It’s proven that both jiu jitsu and boxing / kickboxing teach kids problem solving skills and help them gain confidence.

Our kids programs are taught in a progressive 8 week program and are sutible for ages 5 – 15 years of age.


Women & Teen Girl Classes

Every friday night, from 4pm to close we open up the gym exclusivly to girls, women and those who identify as female.

Our classes include both Roll and Strike.  These classes are empowering and will give you the opportunity to let down your guard, move your body while learning new skills and getting in a workout.  All our classes are taught by a female coach.

What should I bring / wear?

For our outdoor classes, you’ll only need to bring a water bottle and a yoga mat or towel. Please wear running or cross training shoes and whatever clothes you can move comfortably in. Remeber classes are outside, so dress for the weather.

Striking: You won't need to bring any extra equipment, however if you have handwraps or gloves you're welcome to bring them.  If you have a skipping rope or mat we suggest you bring it.

How early should I show up?
Please show up 5-10 min early to class.  If you are running a few minutes behind please call or email us and give us a heads up so we can hold your spot.
Do I need to be fit or have past experience?

Hells no! All fitness and experience levels are welcome! All of our classes are designed to challenge you, but we will also be diligent in providing different variations so you can work on building up to your goals.  And we always encourage you to take a break whenever needed.  Our motto is "try" and we're here to help.

What about safety?

Our classes are currently outdoors and we'll be practicing social distencing during the whole class.  If you have a training partner inside you're bubble you're welcome to work with them.  We'll also provide hand sanitiser.

What if it rains?

Our classes are weather dependant.  If it's really raining we'll try to give you lots of notice before we cancel a class.  If it's a light drizzle we'll be there.

Where are outdoor classes located?
Vancouver classes are at Jack Poole Plaza.  We meet at the torch.

North Vancouver classes are at Cates Deck by the Lonsdale Shipyards.
